placeholder re: ward to the Order about he and Marlene catching a Hag trying to poison Tinworth's water supply with aphrodisiac, interrogating them to find out that they were responsible for the Ministry and St Mungo's water incidents in an attempt to make more babies for the next Hag Week, and leaving the Hag tied up and dropped off at the Ministry with a note explaining the discovery: "courtesy of the Order of the Phoenix."

[ WARDED TO REMUS. ]How are you doing?

[ WARDED TO THE ORDER. ]After much deliberation and even more practise, Caradoc and I are now prepared to work with everyone in a new line of defense -- specifically, against the Unforgiveable Curses. We will not be teaching anyone how to cast these spells, only to defend themselves against the Imperius Curse and withstand intense pain to be able to concentrate enough to get yourselves to safety. These lessons will not be fun. In fact, I guarantee they will be exhausting and uncomfortable at best. But we believe they are necessary. We cannot expect to defend ourselves against these spells without experience, and doing so in a controlled environment is a far more ideal way to go about it than learning in the midst of a fight where something could actually go wrong. I highly encourage all of you to at least consider participating in these lessons, but they are, as always, optional -- while Caradoc and I will not actually be casting the Cruciatus Curse on anyone, we will be using the Imperius Curse itself. We have practised the spell on each other enough times to feel confident in our abilities to use it, although I would like to stress again that we will be using these spells for our practises only in fighting off the curse.
We will not be using the Cruciatus Curse. Instead, we will be using what is known as a Muscular Response Charm, a spell typically used in healing practises to test the nerves and reflexes of reattached or regrown limbs. It will be used to simulate the intense pain felt while under the Cruciatus Curse so that you can better your thresholds for pain to maintain the concentration to get yourselves to safety. Being under this curse leaves one vulnerable to much worse, and I would rather put all of you through discomfort than to have any of you unprepared in battle.
I assure all of you that Caradoc and I are not going into this flippantly, and we will gladly answer any questions or concerns you may have.

[ WARDED TO CHARLOTTE. ]Are you able to take the 14th and 15th off work? It will be terribly challenging to spoil you if you're in St Mungo's all day.

[ WARDED TO THE ORDER TRAINING TEAM & ALBUS. ]Caradoc and I have been discussing introducing something new to our training, but as it involves Dark Magic -- specifically, the Unforgiveables -- we thought it to be prudent to open the discussion to everyone before we decide to go ahead with it. We believe that we should begin teaching how to throw off the Imperius Curse which, of course, would mean that Caradoc and I would be using dark magic.
There is also concern with the recovery period after suffering the Cruciatus Curse; it leaves people vulnerable to further attacks, often before they can get to safety. There is a spell generally used in healing methods which can be used to simulate a similar pain on the nerves, but without the damaging effects caused by actually using the Cruciatus Curse. Obviously, all of this will be optional but encouraged to anyone who attends our training, but I would rather put our members through some pain to build their thresholds than to lose anyone of us permanently.
I understand that casting these spells is a controversial subject -- they are called Unforgiveables for very good reasons -- but this is not to say we will be teaching anyone how to use these spells; only how to defend against them. We have looked into alternatives for how to train for these, but there is no way to otherwise simulate the Imperius Curse efficiently. We are also aware of the skill required to effectively cast the Imperius Curse, and we will be practising the spell before we bring it into any lessons.

[ WARDED TO CHARLOTTE. ]I've been thinking that, now that the children are back at Hogwarts, it would be a good idea to attend Dorcas' defense lessons when you are able to. I'm not saying you should start to fight the Death Eaters, but we cannot predict when the fight will come to us instead. Vultus and Domina were murdered, and they used to be members of the Order -- I cannot ignore that, no matter what the outcome of the trial is. I don't want us to be unprepared.

[ WARDED TO FRANK. ]I tried to suggest to Charlotte last night that she and I ought to have another baby. She didn't seem very keen on the idea. How are things with Alice?

[ WARDED TO THE ORDER. ]I've compiled a list of purists Charlotte and I noticed leave the dinner party early. It is interesting to note that some of the people on this list were spotted leaving early at Nott's wedding shortly before the attack in Hogsmeade, as well.
Rodolphus & Bellatrix Lestrange, both of whom were noticed to leave early at the Nott wedding. Xander Mulciber, also left the Nott wedding early. Lucius & Narcissa Malfoy Benedict & Vivianne Avery, left the Nott wedding early as well. Charlemagne & Lettie Travers Augustus & Araminta Meliflua Evan Rosier Walden & Marion Macnair
